Trump continues tradition of Christmas attacks, takes aim at 'Radical Left Lunatics'

The soon-to-be 47th president of the United States wished almost everyone a Merry Christmas on Wednesday, even the “Radical Left Lunatics” and the “wonderful soldiers of China.”

Presidents and politicians have delivered holiday well wishes for decades — former President Calvin Coolidge issued the first official greeting in 1927 — but President-elect Donald Trump’s unique holiday greeting style has become something of a novelty tradition of its own.

Trump’s Christmas Day messages — separated by a reel of social media postings highlighting his relationship with Elon Musk, his settlement with ABC news, his victory in 2024, his plans to conduct mass deportations, the looming debt ceiling fight, among others — were written on his Truth Social account.

His first message of the day was a straightforward if entirely capitalized, “merry Christmas to all!”

He later followed this by sharing a greeting-card style picture of him and former first lady Melania Trump, before posting a New York Post article accusing President Joe Biden of being “President in Name Only” and sharing articles supporting the confirmation of his picks for Secretary of Defense and FBI Director.

Then just before 3 p.m., he wrote a message about Panama, where his business empire is apparently accused of tax evasion.

“Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China, who are lovingly, but illegally, operating the Panama Canal (where we lost 38,000 people in its building 110 years ago), always making certain that the United States puts in Billions of Dollars in ‘repair’ money, but will have absolutely nothing to say about ‘anything,’ ” he wrote.

Trump wasn’t done there, turning his ire next to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whom he addressed as “Governor.”

“If Canada was to become our 51st State, their Taxes would be cut by more than 60%, their businesses would immediately double in size, and they would be militarily protected like no other Country anywhere in the World. Likewise, to the people of Greenland, which is needed by the United States for National Security purposes and, who want the U.S. to be there, and we will,” he wrote.

The 45th/47th president then continued his screed with an addendum just for the “Radical Left Lunatics, who are constantly trying to obstruct our Court System and our Elections, and are always going after the Great Citizens and Patriots of the United States but, in particular, their Political Opponent, ME.”

Trump then suggested the lives of those on the left who stood against him are on the line, and that their “only chance of survival” is a pardon from President Joe Biden.

He still wasn’t done, stopping to make clear the three dozen death row inmates Biden recently spared from execution are not included in his holiday well wishing.

“I refuse to wish a Merry Christmas to those lucky ‘souls’ but, instead, will say, GO TO HELL! We had the Greatest Election in the History of our Country, a bright light is now shining over the U.S.A. and, in 26 days, we will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. MERRY CHRISTMAS,” he wrote.
