Ruth Marcus

Born in Philadelphia and raised in New Jersey, Ruth Marcus develoepd a love of journalism as soon as she began receiving assignments for Yale's college newspaper. She went on to Harvard Law School, where she wrote for the Harvard Law Review, and in 1984 joined the Washington Post as a staff writer. Her work has had her covering all areas of politics, from the Supreme Court to the White House, with a special focus on campaign finance. In 2003 Marcus became a member of the Post editorial board, and began her regular column two years later. She was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for commentary in 2007.
