Bill Whitehead

Bill Whitehead trained himself to draw by copying cartoons from the New Yorker, and by the time he entered college he was drawing for his school newspaper. Some of his early work was featured in newspapers such as the Saturday Evening Post and the Wall Street Journal before his first syndicated strip, "Sidelines," was picked up in the 1980s. In addition to his newest comic, "Free Range," Whitehead also writes and draws humor cards for Hallmark, and his work has been included in Pelican Publishing's "Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year" and Ohio State University's Cartoon Research Library. He has also been named Best Editorial Cartoonist by the Kansas Press Association.
