'IT ENDS WITH US'

Rated PG-13 for domestic violence, sexual content and some strong language.

What it’s about: A romantic melodrama about a woman who falls into an abusive relationship and seeks solace with her first love.

The kid attractor factor: This is more of an adult drama and story about intimate partner violence.

Good lessons/bad lessons: If you can't do what's right for you, do what's right for your family. Cycles of abuse must be broken.

Violence: Some domestic abuse scenes, pushing, slapping, biting.

Language: Some strong language.

Sex: Several sexy scenes and suggested sex (nothing graphic).

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: This deals with relationship themes that are too mature for kids. OK for teens.

'CUCKOO'

Rated R for violence, bloody images, language and brief teen drug use.

What it’s about: A young woman encounters a series of mysterious, terrifying and violent events in the small German town where she moves with her family.

The kid attractor factor: Not much — this is an art-house European horror film.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Never trust the lecherous hotel owner.

Violence: Some extreme and bloody violence and attacks — a car crash, shooting, menacing figures, etc.

Language: Some swearing and strong language.

Sex: A kiss between two women, suggestions of sex.

Drugs: Teen marijuana use.

Parents’ advisory: Too scary for kids but fine for teens.
