Savannah Guthrie shares update after vocal cord surgery

“Today” show host Savannah Guthrie shared an update Monday on social media after undergoing vocal cord surgery.
“All good! Thanks for prayers and love!” Guthrie wrote on a whiteboard, which she took a picture of herself holding. She also captioned the post, “see you soon!”
Guthrie, 54, revealed on Dec. 19 that she needed the surgery to deal with vocal nodules and a polyp on her vocal cords. She said it would be her last day on the air for several weeks, and she would need to rest her voice following the procedure.
“It’s not a big, big deal, but I am going to have a surgery in the new year and be off for a couple of weeks, so this is my last day for a little while,” she said on the Dec. 19 broadcast. “I just want to let everyone know, and if you’ve been wondering, do I have the world’s longest head cold? No, I don’t.”
Guthrie, frequently praised for her busy schedule on various NBC platforms, said her voice had been scratchy and bothering her for a long time, so she was happy to finally understand the problem and develop a plan to solve it.
While her exact return timeline has not been officially announced, Guthrie is scheduled to co-host the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
“It’s such an honor to celebrate the world’s best athletes and introduce the magic and wonder of the Winter Games and northern Italy to viewers at home,” she previously said in a statement.
