Auto review: 2025 Mazda CX-50 works the numbers well
Published in Business News
With Mazda doing everything it can do to keep consumers attracted to it's brand, the CX-50 is no secret to the market. With its excellent pricing and numbers, the CX-50 makes a lot of financial sense.
Our 2025 tester in Polymetal Gray Metallic with Terracotta interior showed out beautifully with winter tires. Its Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated with a six-speed automatic transmission, produces 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
With a 3,500 pound towing capacity, the CX-50 boasts four doors, five seats and all-wheel drive. Riding on 18-inch wheels, the CX-50 offers roof rails, rear spoiler, hood graphics, heated mirrors, and a power lift gate. On the inside are six-way power leather heated and cooled seats, four USBs, wireless charging, heated steering wheel, 10.25-inch color infotainment display, with center console controls, a Bose stereo with 12 speakers and complementary three months of SiriusXM radio.
The warranty for the CX-50 includes 60-month/60,000-mile Powertrain and 36-month/36,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty. Twenty-four hour roadside assistance is also included. For a mid-size SUV, Mazda certainly has done everything it could to pack the CX-50 with just enough stuff, making it a great buy over the competition at KIA, Hyundai and Honda.
With great pricing, the CX-50 is an outstanding option for people wanting something different from the typical Honda CR-V and RAV-4. While comfort, size and power are still at the top of the priority list, Mazda delivers the CX-50 with nice finishes for added flare.
